Gilad Atzmon is a British Jazz artist and author. Gilad was born in Israel in 1963. Studied at The Rubin Academy of Music, Jerusalem (Composition and Jazz) Tel Aviv and Essex universities. .  His albums, of which he has recorded fifteenth to date, often explore political themes and the music of the Middle East.

Gilad has also recorded and performed with Ian Dury, Robbie Williams, Sinead O'Connor and Paul McCartney, Robert Wyatt, the Water Boys. In 2014 he recorded with Pink Floyd and is featured on their last album The Endless River (Anisina).

In 2000 Gilad  founded the Orient House Ensemble in London and started re-defining his own roots in the light of his emerging ethical awareness. 

Gilad writes  on political matters, social issues,  Jewish identity and culture. Atzmon's  novels 'Guide to the perplexed' and 'My One And Only Love' have been translated into 24 languages. Gilad's latest book, The Wandering Who?, is a study of Jewish Identity politics.  It was published in English in October 2011 and has since been translated into ten languages and been a best seller since then.

Enzo Apicella was born in Naples, Italy on 26 June 1922. Having served in the Italian Air Force during WWII, he went on to study at film school in Rome. Soon after, he became a freelance designer working in illustration and print journalism before co-founding Melodramma, an opera magazine, in Venice in 1953.

When the magazine ceased publication, he came to England in 1954 and began designing posters and sets for television, as well as producing cartoon films. A self-taught cartoonist, his cartoons have been published in The Observer, The Guardian, Punch, The Economist, Private Eye, and Harpers & Queen.

In 1974 he worked with artists John & Rosalind on the LP album A Night At Factotum. Apicella produced the sleeve design and caricatures. Apicella is not only a restaurant designer and former restaurateur, he is acclaimed as one of the protagonists of the Sixties  - an enigmatic maverick, described by Vogue's Bevis Hillier as "One of the creators of the Swinging Sixties" who profoundly influenced the face of London’s restaurant scene. Known for going that much further than any of his contemporaries, Apicella understood that the pop uprising demanded more eating out than in.

He worked as an interior designer for over 150 restaurants, including 70 for Peter Boizot's Pizza Express. He was co-owner of Club dell'Arethusa, Meridiana, Factotum, Apicella '81 and Condotti.

Born from a Pakistani father and a Czech mother, Alimuddin Usmani is an independent journalist born in 1979 in Geneva, Switzerland. He received his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from University of Geneva in 2008. He started his activity in journalism during an internship in Radio Prague in 2011 and began to write for Alain Soral’s website, Egalité&Réconciliation, in 2013 and discovered there the thought of Gilad Atzmon. He currently resides in Geneva and continues to publish interviews on different websites as well as articles for local newspapers. The collection he will publish with Gilad Atzmon will be his first one.

Chris Higginbottom is one of the UK’s top drummers, currently a member of the Ronnie Scott’s Allstars and Gilad Atzmon’s Orient House Ensemble. A Royal Academy of Music graduate, Chris lived in New York for eight years where he played with many of the biggest names in jazz including Mark Murphy and Seamus Blake.
He has performed all over the world including the Blue Note Tokyo, Birdland in New York, the House of Blues in Chicago, The Roxy in LA, Montreal Jazz Festival and countless others.
Since relocating to London in 2010 Chris has also performed/toured with Kyle Eastwood, Westlife, Marti Pellow, Georgie Fame and Carleen Anderson. He has released two albums as a leader - 'One' (2005, Basho records), and ‘Where Land Ends’ (2013, F-IRE)

Frank Harrison took up the piano at 11, and began playing gigs when he was 15. After taking up a scholarship at Berklee School Of Music, Boston, he returned to the UK and joined Gilad Atzmon’s band. Frank has also performed with Peter King, Julian Arguelles, Bobby Wellins, Julian Siegel, Don Weller, John Etheridge, Louis Stewart and Iain Ballamy. Frank also runs his own trio, which has released four albums and tours regularly in Europe.

Yaron Stavi was born in Israel where he started playing Double Bass and Electric Bass.

He moved to Berlin in 1996 and studied there with Prof. Rainer Zepperitz at The Academy of Arts. Between 1997 and 2002 Yaron has played in many symphony orchestras under conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Daniel Barenboim, Sir Neville Mariner, Marris Jansons and others.

In 2002 Yaron moved to London and joined Gilad Atzmon’s Orient House Ensemble. He has since played with many artists such as Nigel Kennedy, Richard Galliano, Larry Coryell, Peter King, Leszek Mozdzer, Gary Husband, John Etheridge, Jarek Smietana and more.

Yaron has recorded and performed with David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music) and appears on Robert Wyatt last two albums Cuckooland and Comicopera.

He has also performed with Lilly Allen, Shane Macgowan and Madness’s singer Suggs and has been playing with Beatie Wolfe and Koby Israelite.
